First non-calcified dasycladalean alga from the Carboniferous.
A non-calcified dasycladalean alga is described from the Mississippian of Scotland. This occurrence constitutes the first Carboniferous record of non-calcified dasyclads. The fossils are preserved as carbonaceous remains within siderite nodules.
