Narrow-beaked trogons from the early Eocene London Clay of Walton-on-the-Naze (Essex, UK)
We describe multiple partial skeletons of a new trogon species from the early Eocene London Clay of Walton-on-the-Naze (Essex, UK), which are among the oldest fossils of the Trogoniformes. , gen. et sp. nov. has a much narrower and more gracile beak than extant trogons, which denotes different ecological attributes...Mayr, Gerald ; De Pietri, Vanesa L ; Kitchener, Andrew C

Histopathology of Dryas octopetala leaves co-infected by Subanguina radicicola and Aphelenchoides sp. and molecular caracterization of the nematodes
During a survey, in the Perthshire hills, Scotland, altitude 800–900 m a.s.l., samples of Dryas octopetala leaves showing concomitantly symptoms of galls and discolored spots, were collected. Several nematodes, juveniles and adults, were isolated by dissecting foliar tissues. Two species of nematodes, recovered and identified at morphological and molecular level...Bland, K P ; Fanelli, Elena ; Troccoli, Alberto ; Vovlas, Nicola

Highly specialized suspension-feeding bony fish Rhinconichthys (Actinopterygii: Pachycormiformes) from the mid-Cretaceous of the United States, England, and Japan
We re-define the Cretaceous bony fish genus Rhinconichthys by re-describing the type species, R. taylori, and defining two new species; R. purgatorensis sp. nov. from the lowermost Carlile Shale (middle Turonian), southeastern Colorado, United States, and R. uyenoi sp. nov. from the Mikasa Formation (Cenomanian), Middle Yezo Group, Hokkaido, Japan....Schumacher, Bruce A ; Shimada, Kenshu ; Liston, Jeff ; Maltese, Anthony

New mantises (Insecta: Mantodea) in Cretaceous ambers from Lebanon, Spain, and Myanmar
Diverse new material of mantises found in the Cretaceous amber-bearing deposits from Lebanon (Barremian), Spain (Albian), and Myanmar (Albian–Cenomanian) are described and figured. The Lebanese and Spanish forms are nymphs; while the one from Myanmar is an adult specimen. The Lebanese nymph corresponds to a new specimen of Burmantis lebanensis...Delclòs, Xavier ; Peñalver, Enrique ; Arillo, Antonio ; Engel, Michael S ; Nel, A …

A new specimen of Baphetes from Nýřany, Czech Republic and the intrinsic relationships of the Baphetidae
'Loxomma'bohemicum from the Upper Carboniferous assemblage from Nýřany, Czech Republic, is a nomen dubium restricted to the type and only specimen. The new binomen Baphetes orientalis is created for a skull referred to Baphetes bohemicus by later authors. A previously undescribed baphetid specimen from Nýřany is referred to B. orientalis...Milner, Angela C ; Milner, Andrew R. ; Walsh, Stig A
