Characterization of archaeological and in situ Scottish window glass
Scottish window glass from both archaeological sites and historic buildings was examined using portable X-ray fluorescence (pXRF) and scanning electron microscopy – energy-dispersive X-ray micro-analysis (SEM–EDX). The elemental composition of the glass provides information regarding the materials used and, subsequently, an approximate range of dates of manufacture. pXRF is shown...Kennedy, Craig J ; Murdoch, K. Radiocarbon dating results from the Beaker People Project: Scottish samples.
The Beaker People Project is a major interdisciplinary five-year research programme, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and led by one of the authors (Mike Parker Pearson of Sheffield University). It aims to investigate patterns of diet, mobility and health in British Beaker-associated skeletons (and in contemporaneous non-Beaker...Sheridan, J A ; Parker Pearson, Mike ; Jay, Mandy ; Richards, Mike ; Curtis, Neil
