• This reproduces, in facsimile, the only known copy of the Proposal to Purchase the Museum of the Late Hugh Miller for deposition in the Natural History Museum (later part of the National Museums Scotland). It is datable on internal evidence to 1858. This particular copy belonged to Charles W. Peach and is annotated by him.
