Abstract
It is 75 years since the Festival of Britain was launched to the post-war British public as a government showcase for modern British design, science and technology.
Join Professor Jo Littler (Goldsmiths), Christopher Breward, Director National Museum of Scotland, and Harriet Atkinson, author of The Festival of Britain: A Land and its People as they consider why the exhibition has been frequently revisited, the role played by émigré artists in the project, and how the Festival was disseminated beyond London.
To meet demand we are also offering an online live stream of the event. Space is very limited, please do not come to the event without a pre-booked ticket.
