Abstract
In a SHR review of 2008, heraldry in Scotland was said to be in the midst of a revival, with interest greater than at any time since the resurgence in the 1970s that had witnessed the founding of the Heraldry Society of Scotland.1 The present volume is produced by that society, and the revival seems to be holding, indeed, perhaps, expanding to include new audiences if the inclusion of two papers concerned with heraldic matters in volume 151 of the Proceedings of the Society of Antiquaries is any guide.2
