Abstract
In 2023 the House of Ni'isjoohl Memorial Pole was returned to the Nisga'a Nation from National Museums Scotland where it had been on display for over 90 years. This presentation will outline the history of the making of the pole in the Nisga'a Valley, its acquisition by National Museums Scotland, the descendants' request for its rematriation, the legal process, and the cultural and logistical work required to support the pole to return home safely.
