Abstract
Documentary evidence confirms that the first Staffordshire ceramic warehouse set up in Scotland, was in Edinburgh, at the foot of the Canongate, under the name 'Keiling [sic] and Coulter', as recorded in an advertisement of January 1755 in the Caledonian Mercury.
