A Middle Bronze Age dirk from the River Tay at Friarton, Perth

The writers describe the circumstances of discovery and acquisition and local significance of a fine Middle Bronze age dirk found in the River Tay near Perth. Attention is also drawn to a very similar weapon from Pitchaithly, Dunbarney, originally reported in the 19th century, and consideration is given to the possible location of that discovery. Analysis suggests that both dirks are of Irish metal or Irish in origin.
