Abstract
igh Pasture produced a rich and well-preserved artefact assemblage of over 1700 objects, showcasing the range of materials available in later prehistoric Scotland. Rarities such as the preserved wooden musical instrument bridge accompany decorated fragments of La Tène metalwork, an intricate spiral glass bead, a Roman coin, and some of Scotland’s earliest iron and ironworking finds, all illustrating wealth and wider connections. Such finds are a minority compared to the vast corpus of the everyday though: cobble tools, bone points, pottery sherds, and craft debris form the majority of the assemblage.
