Abstract
This paper draws preliminary attention to the recent discovery of evidence for early Holocene human presence at Howburn, near Biggar, in the interior of southern Scotland. Implement types invite comparison with so-called Star Carr type Early Mesolithic assemblages of the 10th millennium BP, or possibly with even earlier technological traditions.
