Abstract
Ian Brown is curator at the National Museum of Flight at East Fortune Airfield near Edinburgh, and a graduate of the Universities of Stirling and Leicester. He has been researching aspects of the airfield’s history, including newly discovered evidence of gardening on site. He is primarily a radar and air defence historian and recently published two monographs on these subjects (Radar in Scotland 1938-46 and The Air Defence System in Scotland 1938-46) and is currently working on a history of the air attacks on Scotland during the Second World War.
