Abstract
The challenges of teaching Cold War history are manifold. Not only does the period span 40 years, jump seemingly arbitrarily from continent to continent, it also requires an understanding of historical context and abstract concepts. Equally, Cold War history is not ‘decided’ – historians disagree about its events and outcomes.
