Abstract
Northern Lights: The Age of Scottish Lighthouses by A. D. Morrison-Low has been published to mark the 200th anniversary in 2011 of the world’s oldest rock lighthouse, on the Bell Rock or Inchcape Reef, off the east coast of Scotland. This fully illustrated book tells the story of Scotland’s lighthouses through narrative, objects, charts and photographs. National Museums Scotland hosted an exhibition from October 2010 to April 2011 , Shining Lights, using its pre-eminent collection of sea-marking material.
