Abstract
The triennial meetings of the ICOM Committee for Conservation (ICOM-CC) are widely regarded as the most significant global events in the heritage conservation calendar. At each Congress, the membership of the ICOM-CC are brought together to report and to review current research. The meetings offer the conservation professional a unique opportunity to discover the current status of research and practice across the full range of conservation disciplines at the highest level. The refereed papers and posters in this unrivalled collection were selected for their quality by the organizers of the 14th Triennial Meeting. The collection includes studies of all manner of museum objects, and includes documentary, legal and educational issues. Over 1000 papers have been published in the Congress preprints in the past twenty years. They represent an immense amount of research work conducted in many countries and cover all the world's continents both in terms of subject area and authorship.
