Abstract
It is very clear that children's ware was very much an important part of the output of Scottish potteries in the form of tea sets, plates, etc.
Taking the 1855 price list of Fife Pottery, Kirkcaldy as an example, this provided prices for 'toy teas (cups with or without handles) , teapots, sugar boxes, creams, slop bowls, bread plates and tea sets complete.'. These were sold either hand-painted or transfer-printed.
In the following three papers, George R. Haggary provides valuable attribution information on child's plates produced by Bell's Glasgow Pottery, Verreville Pottery, Glasgow and Methven's Links Pottery in Kirkcaldy.
Sherds recovered from archaeological projects are described in detail and will assist any collector greatly in identifying unmarked examples.
