Abstract
Roman Camps are temporary structures built by the army when on campaign, manoeuvres as well as practicing for new conquests. Whilst Scotland has one of the largest numbers of camps known anywhere in the Empire (partly due to our history of recording them and partly due to repeated campaigns north of Hadrian's Wall by Roman forces), programmes of research elsewhere have brought greater understanding of these structures.
