Abstract
The Python of Caen, the Giant Alga of Amblie, and other lost Leedsichthys specimens of Alexandre Bourienne, Jules Morière, Eugène Eudes-Deslongchamps and Alexandre Bigot. The descriptions of five specimens from the Bathonian-Oxfordian of Normandy, all of which were probably destroyed during allied bombing in July 1944, are reviewed as unrecognized specimens of the large suspension-feeding pachycormid Leedsichthys. Many similarities with known specimens of this taxon are noted, with the consequence that such an animal may well have been present in the Bathonian.
